You can have a try to update vc11 project file to vc12. I suggest you to use visual studio 2010/2012 instead.
There are a lot of information on the quantlib official site in the document section. For example, you can find a book named implementing quantlib written by lugi.

I’m a students whose major is economics& finance. I’m learning C++ by myself. My IDE is Microsoft Visual Studio 2013(VC12).I downloaded QuantLib-1.3and found the files named from VC7 to VC11. I’m a little confused. Can I use QuantLib in Visual Studio 2013(VC12)? And can anybody tell me where I can find books or other things that teach me how to use QuantLib?
