Re: Java

I created the jquantlib project at sourceforge.net

http://jquantlib.sourceforge.net. I just started it. I
tried to start with JDK 1.5, but eclipse didn't
support it nicely yet. It is annoying.

Welcome to join me if you (or anyone else) are
interested.

Re: Java

Xavier.Abulker

Hello Zhou,
yes I'm also very interested, where could I download it?
All the links I tried are down and http://sourceforge.net/projects/jquantlib/ doesn't show anything to download.
Where could I have it?
Xavier

I'm also interested in helping out.  Is the idea to do a straight port at first?  I'm not that comfortable with the current code but I feel that porting would be a great help to my understanding.

Regards,

Jeremy

Zhou,
I like the news (although I won't be able to contribute.)
Should we put a link on the QL site right now, or do you want us to
wait until you finish setting up project pages and such?

Later,
        Luigi

Hi Guys,

I only put several files in the cvs for
experimenting. No download links have been set up yet.
It probably takes a while to have some useful code
that people can look  at. If you really want to see,
check out from cvs.

It will be nice to put a link from QuantLib to
'advertise' for us so we may have more people to
contribute. Dealing with building C++ environments is
really a headache for a person who is used to java. I
spent a whole afternoon to install Kdevelop along many
other packages needed since I had troubles with VC++
for several days (and go nowhere), I ended up with the
tool installed but I can never run (the program run
and exit without errors). I think java is much simpler
than  C++ in this respect. But things like no
operators overload allowed may make porting work
awkward.

Jeremy and Xavier, do you like me to put you on the
developer/admin list? The project is really in
planning stage.

Zhou
