Problem with qlBondYield2 Excel formula

andrea.palermo
Hi all,
we have a qlib installation in three workstations.
In two of them, a same Excel formula (qlBondYield2), with same data, give the right results, while for another workstation it gives wrong results:

The spreadsheet is shared: I mean, it's the same spreadsheet opened by the 3 users.

I tried to reinstall the qlib dll, unsuccessfully.

Can anyone help me?

Kind regards

Andrea

Hi Andrea,

What version of QuantLibXL are you using?  Have you compiled it yourself
or are you using the binary installation?

If the workbook dependencies are not set up correctly, maybe the sequence
of calculations is not controlled.  What happens if you hit Ctrl-Alt-F9 a
couple of times?

Does each environment return the same value for qlSettingsEvaluationDate()?

Is it just qlBondYield2() which behaves differently on the one machine, or
are there other intermediate calculations which return different results?
Try reducing the workbook to the smallest possible example which
reproduces the problem.

Try enabling logging and comparing the output in the log files.

Regards,
Eric

R: Problem with qlBondYield2 Excel formula

In reply to this post by andrea.palermo
Hi Guys,
I noticed that the problem listed below (same qlBondYield2 formula giving a right value in a machine and a totally wrong value in another one) could be related to the different Excel versions.

- in Excel 2003 SP3 11.8169.8172 it doesn't work
- in Excel 2003 SP3 11.8237.8221 it works
- in Excel 2003 and Excel 2003 SP2 it works

Obviously, I cannot be sure that the problem is actually caused by the different Excel versions.

Do you have knowledge of this problem?

Thanks in advance

Andrea
