I don't know either. For Windows, Microsoft provide a static library
and you have to link your code against that in order to generate a
binary that is recognized by Excel.
I don't know whether there is something similar for the Mac. If there
is then I would expect that it would be possible to recompile
QuantLibXL for use with the Mac version of Excel, but there would be
some work to do to configure the build.
