Hello.
I have a quick
question about the QuantLib userbase.
QuantLib looks like
a very exciting project! I am trying to descern the current userbase (and
growth).
The sourceforge
download page lists the number of quatlib downloads as
~400.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=12740 But the sourceforge
statistics page says there are 150 downloads per day (or 11,000 in the past 2
months!). http://sourceforge.net/project/stats/detail.php?group_id=12740&ugn=quantlib&type=prdownload
What is an accurate estimate of the
userbase?
Thank you very much,

An accurate estimate is difficult to obtain, even assuming that the 2000-downloads figure is accurate. Were I to mention a figure, I'd choose the number of subscribers to the mailing list: according to <http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=12740>, that would be around 900 for the users' list and 350 for the developers' list. And the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. -- C. A. R.
