I now understand from some of the archived emails on the list that the
SWIG interface has changed since 0.3.14.
Running 'cvs update -r R00314f0-branch' in each of the Guile and SWIG
subdirectories has set things back into a consistent state for me.
For the time being, since I use Gentoo, I want to keep everything in
sync with Gentoo's ebuilds insofar as possible. Eventually I'll set up a
parallel cvs tree to keep abreast of the latest revisions across the board.
