Overview

 

The Global Index and Markets Group (GIMG) is responsible for managing BGI’s index strategies, cash portfolios, and securities lending product sets. We are looking for a highly motivated Research Analyst passionately interested in investments and finance. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an extraordinary aptitude for applying economic ideas and scientific methods to investment problems. He/she will provide research and analysis for non-traditional index strategies.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

·                     Support efforts to generate well thought out, thoroughly researched non-traditional index strategies.

·                     Conduct empirical research into the return, risk and correlations associated with various proposed investment strategies.

·                     Identify data sources, gather and check data, construct repositories of data for research purposes.

·                     Work with teams throughout organization to commercialize product ideas.

 

 

Qualifications

 

·                     Excellent quantitative skills, including formal training in econometrics or statistics, and demonstrated success in applying these skills in a research context.

·                     Strong academic training (graduate level, up to and including Ph.D.) in finance/economics.

·                     Experience, aptitude and success working with large datasets and statistical software such as SAS or Matlab.

·                     Minimum two years work experience (buy side experience preferred).
