preferred compiler?

Do we have a preferred compiler? At the moment, I am doing all my work
in VC8, but I could switch to VC9
if that's preferrable.

in my production environment I'm using VC8, so as far as I'm concerned
VC8 it's the most used and tested.
Actually I would prefer to move to VC9 since its free Express version
is complete and nicely packaged, but its runtime libraries are not
widely distributed yet on non-developer workstations, and this is a
roadblock for me.
