Overview

 

We currently seek an experienced International Equities Portfolio Manager to join the Global Market Strategies Group (GMSG) in San Francisco. This group is responsible for managing institutional global macro and currency strategies that have premier performance records and strong client followings. GMSG is deepening our investments in international equity markets using long-short portfolios of physical securities. We seek an experienced portfolio manager to be a key member of our team.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

·         Work closely with the established GMSG research team to successfully launch and manage equity investment strategies

·         Contribute investment ideas – drivers of asset returns, optimal portfolio construction and efficient acquisition of exposures

·         Contribute to investment systems and process improvements – recommend enhancements to development team, build ancillary tools, evaluate and test system upgrades

·         Interact regularly with other BGI portfolio managers, strategists & researchers in San Francisco, London & Sydney

 

Additionally, day-to-day portfolio management responsibilities include:

·         Review of model investment recommendations

·         Portfolio rebalancing and trade list generation – ensure consistency with company/market news

·         Manage factor exposures and event risks

·         Handle client contributions and redemptions

·         Respond to discretionary corporate actions

·         Evaluate trading strategies & transactions costs

·         Analysis and communication on portfolio performance and exposures

 

 

Requirements

 

·         5+ years portfolio management experience (including experience in active equity strategies and preferably international markets)

·         Advanced university degree in a relevant field and CFA designation preferred

·         Superior quantitative & information technology skills

·         Proven knowledge of international companies and equity assets

·         Performance driven, passionate about investing, fundamentally curious, self-motivated

·         Team player with strong communication skills & leads by example
