    may you try the instructions at <http://quantlib.org/install/macosx.shtml> (QuantLib) and <http://quantlib.org/install/macosx-python.shtml> (QuantLib-SWIG)? Let me know if they work, and if not, where they should be changed.

As a OSX10.11.4 user, I've struggled to get quantlib-swig-1.8 for python.
just hope the above recommendation would work for me as well.
