Hi Nick,
        if you're interested in the C++ examples, you don't need gensrc (it's
a component of the addins.)  Just download QuantLib 0.9.0 and convert
QuantLib_vc8.sln.  Dave's advice on using VC 2008 should work for
that---let us know if you get stuck.
